Turkey Sailing
OVERVIEW | LOCAL AREA | MORE INFO | PRICES & BOOKING
With turquoise seas, miles of unspoilt coastline, spectacular scenery and an abundance of sheltered inlets, Turkey is truly a boating paradise!!!

Sailing from our base at Bitez near Bodrum you experience the most beautiful cruising grounds in the Mediterranean. To the North, South, East and West of Bitez are fabulously varying sailing areas. No matter in which direction you head you will find remote secluded bays, unspoilt fishing hamlets and colourful coastal towns and villages, you can even visit a few Greek islands as part of your itinerary; Kos, Nisiros and Symi are all within easy reach.

The Gulf of Gokova is to the East and at its entrance is Bodrum, alive with bars, restaurants and bustling market stalls. Here you can get lost in time bargaining for virtually anything from exotic spices to silk carpets. In the contrast of this hive of activity are the many sheltered anchorages cleft deep into the mountainous coastline. Explore and discover small fishing villages, farming settlements and hidden coves where simple wooden jetties are the watermark of cheerful easy going restaurants.

Accommodation On Board a Broadblue Catamaran
The Broadblue Cat comes in 3 different cabin layouts the 'Deluxe', the 'Family' and the 'Charter' to ensure you can have the accommodation that best suits your needs and the number of people in your party. Each layout is specifically designed to maximise your space and comfort without compromising the luxurious interior. The Broadblue 435 Family offers spacious accommodation for 8 people in 3 double cabins plus 2 single berths. The Broadblue 435 Charter offers accommodation for 10 people in 4 double cabins plus 2 single berths.

In the saloon the dining area has been cleverly redesigned to wrap around the table and provide additional seating. Extra wide side decks plus generous foredeck with trampoline sunbathing spaces and pulpit seating. Hugely spacious, luxuriously appointed, fully ergonomic interior with full standing headroom throughout the whole boat.

Why a Catamaran?
They offer fantastic living quarters both inside and out. Inside they are spacious, bright, and airy bringing the beauty of the outside world into your living room. On deck there are acres of seating, socialising and sunbathing space to chill out and enjoy life on, “enough Cat to swing with plenty of room!!!”

What’s so special with them?
That basically boils down to one thing, they stay upright. Quite simple really, but it counts for an awful lot. Because they don’t roll around all over the place, they don’t sway from side to side. When a yacht moves like that, as all yachts do when sailing and some at anchor, it makes people feel sea sick, not how you want to spend your holiday! The other wonderful advantage to remaining up-right and on a stable platform is that no matter whether you are at anchor or sailing the whole boat is usable, safe and an inviting environment. When sailing, you can walk around the decks safely with them level under your feet, you can sit, even spread out comfortably without fear of falling off your perch, you can sunbathe on the foredeck sound in the knowledge that you will still be onboard after the next gust, moving from cockpit to saloon, galley and cabins will not need commando training, preparing food & drinks is a joy with not a juggling act in sight and even eating at a table, having a nap and the most basic of all using the loo is more pleasureable.

Surroundings and Activities
The Gulf of Gulluk is north of Yalikavak and hosts two vastly different shores. On the southern shore are Torba, Turk Buku and Gundogan, playgrounds of Turkeys rich and famous. While the northern side of the gulf is for those who really want to escape. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with dozens of quiet and picturesque retreats such as Iassos, guarded by the ruins of a fortress built in the 12th Century, Kazikli where you will be greeted by inky blue waters, sandy beaches and a family of inquisitive white ducks. South of Yalikavak, at the furthest reaches of the Datca peninsula, where the Mediterranean and Aegean seas unite, is the tiny hamlet of Knidos.

Further down the coast is Datca, an isolated yet thriving holiday village, excellent for catching up on some nightlife and trading experiences with the many sailors that call in there. An opportune moment to restock with fresh supplies before venturing into the Dorian Gulf. Within this gulf are literally hundreds of coves and inlets, all with the invigorating scent of the pine forests which climb up from the shores.

Responsible Tourism - Helping to Preserve Bodrum's Endangered Fruit and Veg
Journey Anatolia provides each catamaran with a welcome hamper packed full of fresh fruit and veg sourced from "Fruit Heritage Conservation", an organisation striving to preserve heritage fruit varieties developed by local people over several centuries. Another priority is to protect the ecologically friendly agricultural practices associated with producing the fruits and maintaining their contribution to the local economy and food security. Fruit Heritage is working towards maintaining these varieties so they may continue to be a reliable source of food and income for local villagers.
